Born in the U$A. Could where you're born in the USA increase your chances of becoming rich and famous?

We wanted to know if where you're born and raised in the United States can go on to increase your chances of becoming rich and famous, so we did some research…

Firstly, we looked at a wide variety of jobs, including Actors, Singers, Influencers, Directors, Politicians and Sports (NFL, NBA, Golf and Ice Hockey), then we had to find some of the highest net-worth celebs in each of those areas. Lastly, all we had to do then was find out where they were born and raised.

For each job, we looked at the most common state or states that cropped up on the list, which told us where the most celebrities within that sector were born.

You're in luck if you're born in California or New York

As you might expect, California did feature a number of times in our research (9 times), as did New York (8 times).

California was found to be the most common birthplace for some of Hollywood's highest-earning actors, including Clint Eastwood, Angelina Jolie and Tom Hanks. It was also the most common birthplace for Baseball players, Directors, Golfers, Reality TV stars and TikTok Influencers, as well as the joint most common birthplace for Entrepreneurs, NFL players and YouTube Influencers.

Appearing in just one less job sector, the majority of the highest net-worth celebs we looked at for Comedians, Models, NBA players, Singers and TV Personalities all started life in New York, while it was also the joint most common birthplace for Entrepreneurs, Politicians and YouTube Influencers.

Not all celebs are from the biggest states in America

American Entrepreneurs top the list of highest net-worth celebs; Jeff Bezos, thought to be worth $154,000,000,000, was born in New Mexico, while Alice Walton – one of the highest net-worth female US entrepreneurs, comes from Arkansas.

Ice Hockey players are also commonly from a few different areas within the US, predominantly from Wisconsin (Phil Kessel, Ryan Suter and Joe Pavelski) and Michigan (Brian Rafalski, Tim Thomas and Mike Modano).

One of the biggest, if not the biggest sport in the US, NFL players typically come from all over too. Looking at the high net-worth NFL players we analyzed, Roger Staubach and Russell Wilson come from Ohio, Tom Brady and Aaron Rodgers both started life in California, while the Manning brothers (Peyton and Eli) originate from Louisiana.

While some Politicians that analyzed do indeed come from New York (President Donald J. Trump and Rep. Nita Lowey), there were an equal number that we looked into (based on highest net worth) that grew up in Ohio, Michigan and Maryland.

Lastly, from all the research we carried out, an equal number of YouTube Influencers also come from a few different states. We found that while California and Texas did top the list, so did Texas, for YouTube Influencers Ryan Kaji, Dude Perfect and Liza Koshy.

Where are most of the highest net worth celebrities in America from?

So there you have it. If you're both in California or New York, you do have a better chance of becoming famous, but they're not the only states that help increase your chances with certain jobs.

Don't be downbeat if your state doesn't feature on this list. It doesn't mean some of the biggest and best celebs for your dream job don't come from this state, it's just that more come from elsewhere. Maybe you could be the next rich & famous celebrity to come from your state and get your town on the map!
